Default 2008 electric ezgo pds need more torque

I am new to the cart world. just bought my first Electric cart that i will be using for hunting and hauling. it has stock motor stock controller with freedom chipand upgraded 4 gauge wiring. it has a 6" lift with 22" tires. I desperately need more torque. I live in north georgia with hilly terrain. I an not set on speed just as long as i can't out run the cart on foot. i would appreciate any help on getting more hill pulling power. thanks

Upgrade the speed control, solenoid, and cable set.
A 400a speed control can give you about a 30% increase in torque. For more than that you will need to either up the voltage or get a bigger torque motor ~ or both.

If the terrain is really hilly and the loads are really big, like more than 2 guys, feed hauling, 70# ice chest, generator, muddy going, sandy footing, anything like that that makes more of a load on the electric motor then you are going to have to step up to a bigger torque motor and controller and that will mean #2g cables also.

Maybe for a quick fix, for now, pull out the freedom chip. You won't go as fast but may have some more torque. You could also play around with other chips to see what's best for now. You may be able to set the controller for a more favorable torque to get you by for a while until you decide how to go with mods. Good luck - RAY
