Default Towing Cart On A Rainy Day

I finally got the cart loaded up to haul 80 miles to the lake for the summer. I had to load the cart backwards to let the rear seat clear the trailer rail. The forecast is for 40% chance of rain. I will be travelling two lane roads at 55mph for two hours. I would prefer not driving in the rain but surprise showers pop up in the spring. Is there anything in the cart that will get dorked by moisture if I do have to run through a shower? Is there any preventative measures I can do like tape over the key switch or anything?

I removed my seat and just hosed off anything dusty once a week for almost two years. Not to mention all the torrential downpours and snowstorms it endured in the course of my last job. I can't imagine a spring shower giving you much grief.

A buddy of mine tows his ezgo backward on the trailer every weekend to our hunting camp. I know several of those trips were during a downpour. He never had an issue.

If you have a tow - run switch, It probably wouldn't hurt to put it in tow and disconnect the battery pack + and -. If water gets into anything, the components won't have power to them. Then just dry it off when you get there and hook the power back up.

Tie the seat down! If the wind gets under that seat with the cart facing backwards you may loose it.

I was planning to do that or just take it off and put it in my truck. Removing windshield also and will put a strap on the top just to be sure.
