Default And so it begins... total newbie to all this

Hello all,

Looking forward to learning from you all, and I've already enjoyed much of what I've read here.

My dad's had a green EZGO electric golf cart in his garage at the retirement community for about six years or more. My brother picked two of them up surplus from some country club, as near as I can tell. The batteries are shot, but they said it runs. At minimum, I'll be investing in those. My dad said "Bring your trailer, and you can have the cart. I'll give you $600 for the batteries." You don't get a better deal than that. I'm fairly sure it's a TXT as I've studied it, but I don't know what year. Body is in good shape, seats are dirty, but in all, it looks really usable. I'd like to get new wheels, paint the thing, and add the back seat option.

My wife is stoked with the whole deal. We live in Rocklin, CA, and if we put on back seats, she could take the kids to school on the cart. We have NEV Routes on many streets here, which is really cool. I can also use the thing at Sunset Whitney golf course, which is 1 mile down the hill from our new (to us) home.

Will post pics after I pick the thing up. We're currently renovating our house, serving as our own GC, so there isn't much time to work on the cart. But looking forward to starting the project later this spring. Happy to have this forum to learn.

Best wishes,
Barry

Here is a link on how to find the serial number and determine which cart that you have.

http://www.shopezgo.com/customer-ser...ialNumber.html

On the 2001 to present TXT's if there is not a number below the power inlet there is a hinged plastic flap below the rear of the seat cushion that raises up to reveal a sticker on the chassis cross member. If you didn't know the flap was there you may not even notice it.

Have fun.
