Anyone running a "Beast" motor?

Now that I am finally getting some time to work on the cart I want to do a motor and if needed a controller upgrade. Looking for a high torque motor that wont sacrifice speed compared to the itty bitty 2.0 hp that is stock in my 93 36v Matathon. The "Beast" looks awesome but I cant find anyting about its speed anywhere...makes me think there is a reason for that. Anyone running one...how fast are you going? Is the motor worth the cash?

Any suggestions out there for high torque but still over 15mph with 22" tires?

I have used several of the D&D 170-010-0002 motors and they work great for what you are talking about.

Im not really familiar with the "beast" motor but i run the D&D 170-010-0002 and it is plenty strong enough for my hunting needs. Im running a 48v setup with a 500 amp controller and it will pull the front wheels off the ground. I was told top speed would be around 17mph but i havent put a gps on it yet. I do actually think it may be a tad to fast for a hunting cart. Ill find out this season.

Are you running a stock controller? If not what controller?

Just a little advice and it's worth exactly what you paid for it

If I were going to do what you are I would do the controller, cables, forward reverse switch FIRST. After you do that you may be perfectly happy with your stock motor performance. I ran my stock motor on the 4855 for a while with no problems just avoid any situation where you stall the motor.

2g cables went in today and the FR switch is in transit somewhere.

Did you upgrade to a HD solenoid?
