Re: Dip it?
I plan on using Durabak on my cart. They have different colors! Dip will last longer if you prep surface right?

Re: Dip it?
Tonka, I'm still looking into the dip process but I don't think I would use anything without some sort of prep work and cleaning. I'm going to look at the Durabak product you mention although the Dip It site lists some interesting colors and a gloss finish as well.

Re: Dip it?
I like the Durabak because I will be building an off road cart and don't want to worry about scratches on it... I guess whatever is the best for the owner and the look they are trying to get!

Re: Dip it?
I have used the spray on plasti-dip on my old sun faded shifter, and dash. So far it looks really nice, and seem durable enough. The one time I messed up and scratched it, i easily repaired with just one squirt over the scratch, ya cant even tell where i did it.
I am seriously considering trying it on my cart body, or top when the weather gets better. |

Re: Dip it?
I've got a kit coming to do the body of my 2006 txt. Firebelly orange will be the color I'm going to do... Look it up but wear some sunglasses first lol
I've got 14" tempest wheels and all black accessories like black seats, top, brush guard, and powder coated diamond plate. Pics to come as it comes together |

Re: Dip it?
Madscientist, make sure you take a lot of pics and pass on any tips you learn. Are you planning to use the glosserizer?

Re: Dip it?
What are you doing to prep it? When I use it I just make sure the object is really clean and spray a couple coats on.
When i think prepping something for paint i think sanding, filling, etc. But in the case of PlastiDip, that would defeat the purpose, which is when you get tired of it you just peel it off and it looks like it did before it was dipped. |
