Default Cable change

I'm new here and learning. I have read that changing cables from stock to 4 gauge will improve torque and speed. My question is do I just change the battery cables or do I have to change other cables/wires as well? My cart is a 2008 EZ-GO RXV.

Thanks

Unless the high current cables are getting hot, I'm not sure if you would get any improvement in Speed or Torque.

The 3 cable connecting the four 12V batteries together, the cable connecting B- to the controller, the cable connecting B+ to the solenoid and the cable connecting B+ from Solenoid to controller should be the same size.

I'm not too sure about the three cables between the controller and motor.
They are 6Ga, but I don't think they carry as much current (individually) as the cables connecting the batteries together and the battery pack to the controller.

If you do change them, be careful. It is a 3 phase motor and if you get a couple of the phases reversed, you might get some strange results.
I'm not sure if the motor will just run backwards, of if it might damage the motor or controller.

Again, if those nine cable are not getting hot, you probably won't see any improvement in performance by replacing them with heavier gauge cables.

Thanks JohnnieB. They are not getting hot so I will just leave them as they are.
