Default Cart won't go

99 ezgo series cart.

Was running fine. parked it for about a week and then moved it out of the shed and stopped to close the door. got back on it and it wouldn't do anything. solenoid not clicking. piddled with it and then it ran. so drove it to the front yard and then it quit again. does nothing. battery indicator light goes out with you press the peddle. let it set there over night and the next afternoon go on it and it ran fine. drove it about 2 miles with no problem. went to put it away. got off to open shed door. then wouldn't do anything again.

Batteries are 1 yo trojans that have full charge.

Thanks for any help on this matter

Dan

Sounds like the pedal microswitch is gummed up and intermittently not closing.

Pedal microswitch is labeled MS-3 on attached schematic with solenoid activation circuit highlighted.
It is located in the pedal box under the floor-mat.

Second attachment is a cutaway of a microswitch. The solenoid activation is through the NC (Normally closed) contacts and when you push the pedal, that little bitty spring is what actually closes the switch contacts.

Replace it.

You might get it to work for a little while with some spray cleaner, but it won't work for long.

Also, the contacts are most likely pitted, they open/close every time your put your foot on the go-pedal and there is some arcing.
