Default Rattle

I have a 4 year old RXV (just out of warranty ) that has developed a intermittent rattle around the right hand side of motor. Motor is tight, shockies/rubbers seem OK and I can't see anything else in there that could rattle. Is there anything in the drive train that could make this sound? It sounds a bit like the brake when it locks on but from other side.

TIA

Try this, jack up rear. jackstands under frame NOT axle will be reqiured, they work good in front of leading spring mounts. Leave the jack under the rear bumper (trust me). Remove tires, NOW- 2 things to check:

First- check torque on axle/hub nuts in the center of lug studs, should be at least 85 ft/lb, if they are loose, take them apart and clean and lube the splines, then retorque. If these are loose, this could be the whole problem.

Second- (clean this area first) Loosen u-bolts securing axle to spring, spray lube between bottom plate and spring, spray lube between spring and axle mount pads, tighten everything back up. Put wheels back on, and give it a go.
