Default how to tell if lift kit and HD rear springs are installed

Bought a 2003 club car electric ds for use at RV parks when camping. How can I tell if it has a lift kit installed and heavy duty leaf springs? The rear tires rub when one or two are seated in the rear bench seats. Can I lift the rear only? Will HD springs alone do the trick? What type of kit should I buy if I need to? I read there are spindle etc... Any, all advice appreciated since we are new at this.

Welcome! Tire-Size is your quickest indicator of lift/not-lifted.Stock tires are 18x8.5-8.If you have these, and they are rubbing, your cart is stock. If you have anything larger, then its' likely lifted, unless someone stuffed oversized tires on it(also likely). If it has a rear-seat,no lift, and stock-tires,it could need heavy-duty rear springs.Pics would definitely help.Hope this helps.

Thank you. When I can I'll post some pics and check the tire size.

Welcome to BGW!

To start off, how many inches is it from the ground to your cart's floorboard? Second, look at the rear springs: if there's only one leaf then you've likely got the factory ones, especially if the tires rub when someone sits on the rear seat. It would be helpful if you noted tire size like pachanga said as well.

On to your questions, if lift is desired there are indeed many ways to go, but if you want the rear to quit dragging when people are on the rear seat then yes, you can put just HD springs on the rear and that should take care of the rubbing proglem

Hope this helps!

Thank you also for the info. As soon as weather permits I'm going to refer to all the guidance received and let you all know what transpires. Only looking to eliminate the rear tire rub when rear seats are used. I saw reference links to various online vendors for the HD springs. So that part will be easy to order.

I see there are various leaf springs, 2,3and 4. Since I want to make sure the rear tires don't rub when passengers are seated in rear should I buy 4 leaf or will 3 work? I really care if ride is stiff.

Villui,

I have a non lifted '05 Precedent, with 205/50-10 tires, and 4 leaf rear springs.

I've had 4 people on the car, and nothing rubs.

Hope this helps. Have fun, Dave

Golf cart king told me that 3 hd leaf spring will give the same support as their 4 leaf hd. Only difference is 3 leaf is 1lb lighter. What would you guys recommend I purchase?

I have some pics. Looks like stock springs?
Plan to buy 3 leaf made in America springs from golf cart king online. Any comments?

My cart is a 2003. I have the 4 leaf HD springs. I did mine to get clearance when loading on trailer. See avatar.
