CC Precedent Batteries...
Hi all, new to the forum, lots of great info here and looking forward to conversing with everyone in the future... I've recently caught the custom cart "bug" and have decided the cart I'm going to buy will be a CC Precedent. Its intended use will be strictly hunting/off-road applications (the reason for picking the Precedent being its stronger, boxed aluminum frame). I plan on converting it to a series cart, with all the usual bells and whistles of an off-road machine.
What I can't seem to figure out however, is whether or not all Precedents come stock with the 4x12 battery pack, or if at some point the Precedent models include/included a 6x8 pack instead. I'm hoping for the latter as the converstion seems to be a pain in the rear. I've searched high and low on this forum, Google, and everywhere inbetween and haven't found my answer. Anyone have any input on the subject? Thanks in advance... |

Re: CC Precedent Batteries...
Hi,
I am a new member too. I am pretty sure the batteries changed from 4 -12V in 2008.5 to 6 - 8V. There is a sticky at the top of this page that shows the conversion. Here is the link. crunchman http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-part-1-a.html |

Re: CC Precedent Batteries...
Thanks for the reply Crunch, can anyone confirm that info? If that is indeed the case I'd rather buy a newer model and not have to do the conversion...

Re: CC Precedent Batteries...
I have an 2008.5 with 4 batteries, but it has removable spacers to use the 6 8v batteries if you want. It was later when they went back to 6 8v's batteries. Anything before 2008.5 you have to do a conversion as described in the link.

Re: CC Precedent Batteries...
The CC Service Manual for 09 through 11 shows the use of both 12 volt and 8 volt batteries...

Re: CC Precedent Batteries...
Does anyone know if you have to change all 6 batteries at the same time? I have one bad and was told it will screw the others up only changing that one.

Re: CC Precedent Batteries...
Yup It will not charge evenly, depending on the age etc of the older ones, it is done but not recommended.
