I have a 2000 txt pds. So, 205/50-10 is as big as I need to go? Is that about 18.5" tall? Stock?

If yours is the old style steering there is an inexpensive 3 inch lift out there. Not that much lift and would allow at least 20 inch tires.

Could you point me in the direction to that lift? I have a 99 DCS.

Nah, just wondering if you were that guy. I stopped in there one day, they all seemed nice and helpful.

Mathematically, that is only a whisper over 18", or stock height, so it would be more or less neutral as far as changes in speed and torque.

However, the size embossed on the sidewall is a "category size" and the actual tire height can be more than an inch different in either direction. To get the true tire height, you have the physically measure the tire. A level and yardstick is close enough for most purposes, but if you want to be more precise, measure the rolling circumference and divide by Pi.

Is that as tall as you need to go? That depends on how fast you want to go versus how steep of hills you want to climb.

Install an Alltrax DCX400 controller and suitable solenoid, and your cart will do about 24 MPH on 18" tall tires if the 36V battery pack and high current cable are up to par, and the steepness of the hills that can be climbed will probably be limited by traction rather than torque.

This gives you a fairly good overview of what to take into consideration when upgrading a cart. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html
The trick is to figure out the desired end result and work towards that goal.

ScottyB packs a pile of information in his website...all in an easy to read format for non-engineers to understand. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html (Same link that JohnnieB has above).

Nice stuff ScottyB!!
