Default 06 txt pds

My 06 TXT PDS all of a sudden stopped while moving slowly, so I put it in reverse and it backed up and then I put it in forward and now it has a grinding sound in the transaxle below the input gear assembly. I believe the intermediate gear assembly failed as it sounds like it is grinding against the aluminum housing. When I removed the pan I found a metal pin about 1/2" long and about 1/4" thick and some aluminum fine shavings. I also found what appeared to be some brass colored shavings. I pulled the motor off and checked it and seems to be fine the issue appears to be in the transaxle. Anyone ever experience this or heard of this and does anyone have a transaxle for sale?
