T8 is just short for Trojan 8v, it's not the battery model.

The correct model name is "T-8V". It is their new bottom tier 8V cart battery, replacing the T-860, but has 160AH vs the 150AH of the T-860.

Trojan also recently introduced a "Traveler 8V", which could conceivably be referred to as a T8. It has the same AH capacity as the still existing T-875 (170AH), but is seven pounds heavier (more lead) and supposed to have a 40% longer lifespan than the T-875.

Trojan tossed another monkey wrench into the naming game with the introduction of their new top tier 8V battery, the "Ranger 160" (8V - 204AH)

Heretofore, the numbers in the name of cart batteries from all manufactures tend to be derived from either the Minutes at 75A or the AH capacity at the 20 hour rate, but the "160" in the Ranger 160 is the Minutes at 56A.

Now that Trojan broke the ice, I suspect other brands might start using Minutes at 56A as part of their model names since 56A is closer to the typical amp draw while cruising than 75A is.

Here is a cut&paste from the Trojan product guide, showing their current line up of 8V cart batteries.

Dealer has to program the controller for higher speed using a handheld programmer.
