Power draw from a voltage reducer with "no load" is typically not enough to worry about.
to solve your problem, turn radio off and just leave reducer toggle switch on. The paperwork with reducer should show its "no load" power use. (Typically in milliamps, thousandths of an amp.) |

I have a little 9v battery (the kind you test on your tongue) that I use on my vehicle radios (no golf cart radio ...yet ). Works beautifully, not sure how many "winters" it would last. But its darn cheap to replace. ...what I have is simular to (but not exactly like) this Memory Saver |

The draw from a memory function of a radio will not hurt a battery. It's next to nothing, maybe equal to like say, a cr2032 keyless fob battery. (like the ones you'd see on a computer motherboard)
