Charger won't turn on
I have a 1991 ez-go and I recently changed all connections parts on the charger and my cart and plugged my cart in to charge when I came back it was charged full then I plugged in again after running for a while when I came back the next day the charger connector was melted to the cart connection. so I bought a brand new cable and connection for the cart and changed out the plug on the charger but now I plug it in and I get nothing at all do you guys think the charger is shot or something on the cart from when the charger melted together the last time. I hope I gave enough detail, thanks for any input guys, you guys helped me out a bunch on my last problem

Re: Charger won't turn on
Steve,
You might try using shorter sentences. I am having trouble following you. I am not real clear on what happened in what order. What make of charger do you have. Did you check the fuse on the charger line at the battery? |

No I did not check the fuse I was not aware there was one. Where exactly is it located at. I submitted a picture of the charger
Thanks again |

Re: Charger won't turn on
There are both a circuit breaker (red button on front panel) on the DC output and a fuse on the AC input.

Re: Charger won't turn on
In addition to what JohnnieB said there is a fuse on the cart.
On my cart there is a 50A fuse inline on the POS battery connection where the charger line attaches. I am sure it is there in case of a short on the charger line. You should be able to measure voltage across the charger receptacle contacts on the cart and get battery pack voltage - I do all the time, its easier than lifting the seat. If you don't then you probably have an open line or blown fuse and your charger won't start charging. Send a picture of your charger receptacle where the wires attach and also the battery pack where the charger leads connect. |
