Default '92 EZGO grinds but doesn't go

Wife's '92 EZGo has developed (I think) a stripped spline coupler or has a stripped spline on one of the axles. I plan on fixing this, but could use some advice from anyone that may have done this task before or has any idea what else the problem might be.

I'm wondering if I need to remove the differential/motor/axle assy to work on this project.

Maybe this cart is a Marathon, don't know. S/N is 603105 & Mfg. Code is H 1190.

If more info is needed, please advise.

The serial number says it is a 1990 Marathon. https://shop.ezgo.com/customer-servi...ialNumber.html

The splines that usually strip are in the brake drums.
Remove the rear wheel hubcaps so you can see the castle nut on the axles.
Have someone watch the castle nuts and if they turn and the wheel doesn't, the splines in the brake drum are stripped.

Probable only one of the drums is stripped, but that is all it takes to keep cart from moving.

Search the net for the lowest price on Ausco HD hubs #2127 for electric or #2126 for gas carts.
