Re: Charger outside storage
I finally came up with a solution that works well for me, and keeps the charger locked and cool. I also sanded out the runs in the paint, I don't know why the paint was really thin, it was a new can of rustoleum.

Re: Charger outside storage
That is sweet!
I would vent it more if it were mine though...those chargers can get pretty warm and require ample ventilation. |

Re: Charger outside storage
There is 2 ventilation baffles one at the top where the cords go in and one at the bottom, each baffle has five 1 1/2 holes drilled in it. The dpi charger didn't even get hot while charging it today in full sun.
I think there is plenty of cross flow air. It is also always breezy where we camp so that helps. I'm going to put a digital thermometer in there that holds the high and low temp and see what it gets up to. |

Good Man! Would hate to see your charger BBQ itself!

Re: Charger outside storage
I bought a Grommet Kit at Lowe's ($8.34) and added Grommets around the bottom of my Golf Cart cover and use bungee cords to keep it snug. Battery Charger stays on floor of cart plugged up all the time. Never had a problem of cover blowing off. I do check the water level about once a month though.
