Club Car Charger Cord
I own a 2007 48 volt Club Car DS. It is very hard to plugin my charger cord, I have to force it into the receptacle. Don't see anything obstructing the plug. Is this a common problem? Is there a fix?

Re: Club Car Charger Cord
I have never had the problem.
But I have read on this forum to spray WD40 on both the plug and the receptacle and plug/unplug several times to see if that works. Aflyer |

Welcome BigChevy to the forum. Every Club Car I have owned the charger plug has always been a tight fit.

Re: Club Car Charger Cord
I own an '07 48v DS and mine has always been a tight fit (by design) so it does not easily come unplugged. So since it is tight for that reason, it means it takes a fair amount of effort to plug it in. My daughter can unplug it, but not plug it in. Just ALWAYS be sure that you and everyone else grabs only the plug itself and NEVER the cord as it will pull apart over time if you do.

Silicone will lubricate and preserve the rubber plug. I do not like to use petroleum distillates on rubber.

Re: Club Car Charger Cord
The CC service manual actually says to use WD-40 to lubricate the connection between the charger plug and the receptacle. And it works great, as I just did mine the other day after my cart sat in my dusty barn all winter. Now it goes into the receptacle effortlessly.
