With a little luck, turnkey conversion kits may come onto the market by the time I'm ready to pull the trigger. The DS platform seems like the Boston Whaler of golf carts: a platform that holds its value well enough to justify repowering. It is lightweight, stable, easy to work on, robust mechanically, and in my opinion, good-looking.
And one more item to add to the DS platform's positive attributes: it is a very utilitarian vehicle. It has a homebrew ball hitch that allows me to pull light trailers with no problem. It has carried up to five people (one kids and four adults), while simultaneously towing me on a bicycle. (I pedal along the driver's side, grab a roof support with my right hand, steer with my left, and hang on for the ride!)

I was running the stock motor before I upgraded to the plumquick, I got the wheels off ebay they are Medusa rims and will fit without a lift. I did however make a set of shackles for the rear to give it about a 1" body lift cause they did rub a little when I hit a bump.
