There are several write-ups on the internet in addition to the you-tube video's, and many of them seem to think it lasts a very long time.

The stuff I did is still in the garage. I do not have any experience with having it out in the sun to see how long it lasts.

Maybe somebody else on the forum has experience with this method.

Day 2: Most of the wiring is completed. I ended up drilling new holes into the back of the battery tub corresponding to where they would connect to the controller. I placed plastic wire conduit into the drilled holes to protect the wires. The dilema i'm having now is where to mount the on board charger. I purchased a Lester Summit from 19.5amp from Dave. He says the majority of the time he mounts them under the rear seat. I wont have a rear seat for a little bit so. I'm thinking about placing it in the same area as the motor but above the motor, kind of under the rear basket (see picture) however it will be difficult to see the status lights there. Hope to get the (6) 8v conversion done this evening and should be ready to go.

Does anyone know what size bolts I need for the seat side handles?

I think they are 1/4"x 1 3/4" long , that would be for a wood bottom seat.
