Default Battery Help

Is it ok to replace 1 battery? Or do I need to buy all new ones.

All my batteries are around 8.4 except 1. It reads 5.2 volts sitting still. Then once I hit the throttle the volts drop to 1.8. The pack voltage goes from 51.8 to 39.1 when the throttle is pressed down.

Date codes are H16 on the 5 good batteries, and I3 on yyhe bad battery.

Thank you guys in advance for the help

Normally you want to replace all the batteries at one time, but 5 are August of '16 and not even a year old yet. The other one is September of '13 so toss it for sure and see if you can find one good used battery to go with the other 5. Those are way to new and to good to toss out.

You can buy 1 new one if need be since those batteries are so new. I actually have one of my 12v's that is one year newer then the rest because it was just inside my one year warranty and had to be replaced. Mine are seven (7) years old now.

Do what works best for you and your wallet.

I would replace the one with a new one the same brand, since they are only a year old. If they were older I'd say replace them all.

Does the brand matter?

They need to be the same amp rating. Be better if they were the same brand.

The world won't end if you don't, but the pack will work better and last longer if you do.

As mgray said, you really need to keep the same manufacturer and most all the major brands have their own special design in active material, plate characteristics, etc.

The battery pack will perform only as well as your worst battery. Unfortunate, but that’s how it is.
