Washing Electric Golf Cart

Is it ok to run a hose over the cart to wash it? And also, I want to clean off the top of the batteries from any residue, acid, etc. How would I do that without blowing something up? Any help is much appreciated. I want to make sure that my only cart is spic 'n' span but I don't want to ruin anything.

I'm no expert, but I just wash my cart the same way I'd wash my motorcycle. I even lift the seat and hose down the battery area.

I hope that's ok to do. I DID just fry my solenoid though. Hopefully that was just a coincidence.

SO long the environmental cover is seated and you dont just drown it you are ok. I pressure wash carts all day without issues. Just dont hold the water in one area. keep it moving.

Also not a bad idea to use a leaf blower to dry the battery area once you're done washing.

Be careful washing the batteries. You will be washing off any corrosion that has built up and it will leave a rust colored stain on concrete and pavement. Learned the hard way.

You may be able to get it up with baking soda but have not tried it yet.

Cover the Controller, Solenoid, and F&R with plastic bags. They do not need to be washed and can be damaged with water.

Make sure the battery caps are secure. Spray on a battery cleaner and let it work for 10 minutes and rinse off.

Use a leaf blower or compressed air to dry.

I tried that once, but my campground is very dusty and they get real dirty quickly. I just put my cart into tow mode, hosed it all down ( without any cleaner in the battery compartment ) and just let it air dry. I usually do this on Sundays just before I left so that it has all week to thoroughly dry. Do you think I'm still possibly hurting it?
