1989 Club Car Motor terminal labels. Part number 5bc48jb771
Hi everyone,
I'm in the middle of upgrading my 1989 club car to a controller from Scottyb. The problem is that I cannot see labels for the terminals on my motor (part number 5bc48jb771). Does anyone have a diagram of the motor that shows which terminals are which? I checked the wiring diagram sticky for it and cannot find anything that I feel clearly labels them. Thanks Scott |

Here ya go. Just "rotate" the motors to match each other.

You HAD a 36V Vglide w/(1)solenoid & resistor coils behind batts, correct?
I believe the top post (in your photo looking rearward) is the A1. then, S2, A2, S1. The S2 used to go to your main battery pack negative. The cable would have been routed to the drivers side frame. The A2 used to go to your resistor coils. The A1 went to the right swivel contact on the FnR. The S1 went to the FnR non-swivel contact on the right side (at 3 o'clock). Use your old wires for reference possibly as they would have retained some shape? I'll double check when I get home. |

Home now and double checked my '88 cart. If that is still your 36volt motor, I (and Stormy) was/are accurate.

On real close inspection, my A2 and S2 were marked. wipe away the grime. Then you'll find continuity between A1 & A2 as well as S1 & 2

Here is another diagram where the wiring is slightly different. Not sure why the wire placement would be different but I am sure the over all end product would work the same tho.
