Default proper charge and charger maybe not working

it is a ez-go.... g299........1187996. The cart has been at parents house in barn. Used to really run good. I picked it up and charged all the batteries one at a time. Each battery showed a 6 to 6.3 volts and then load tested each battery and they all went down to a 5.5 to 5.9 volts. The gauge on dash (like fuel gauge) drops fast when you push peddle. It does move but kills battery's fast. The auto charger seems like it dont even come on. Can't hear a hum or anything. Any ideas, when I hooked the 2 main battery post back up I got a spark. Can I also hook a regular battery charger to the 2 main posts with the wires on them and charge the batteries

Default Re: proper charge and charger maybe not working

EZGO's website says that serial number belongs to a '99 TXT DCS, and DCS controllers didn't have any low voltage protection, so be careful about running it on Bad/Low batteries.

Also be sure to flip the Run/Tow switch to Tow before doing any electrical work on cart.

The pack voltage has to be above about 28V before the automatic charger will turn on.

You can connect a 6V charger to an individual 6V battery without disconnecting the cables, or a 12V charger to two 6V batteries in series.
