Tubes in tubeless tires?
Can I stick a couple tubes in two of my tubeless tires that are punctured?
I bought the karts for a halloween deal, and I'd rather stick some $10 tubes in them rather than buy two new tires. These tires have plenty of tread, just punctures in a couple spots won't hold air. How I bought em and mid transformation. We are all dressing up as Mario Kart characters and driving around town to trick or treat |

Yep,i run them in mine, been there for 5yrs,no issues. The only time it matters is on a street vehichle, where there will be tire heat, then you need to use the proper tube(radial-tube in radial-tire).

Re: Tubes in tubeless tires?
If you just have punctures and are trying to save cost, how about plugging them? Tubes can be a pain... you have to remove the tire partially to get them in and remove the valve stem... you also have to be sure there is no sharp edge on the rim that could cut the tube. I run plugs in my off road vehicles all the time. CA deserts have a bad habit of putting nails in my expensive tires. Heck, I have a plug in two of my land cruiser tires right now that have been there for years without a leak.

Radial tubes? I had no idea such an animal existed. I have never seen a tube with belts/plies.

Re: Tubes in tubeless tires?
No Cg,its made differently, because of the radial-tires.If you put a bias-ply tube in a radial,it will fail quickly(within days),but you can use a radial-tube in a bias-tire.Ive been in the tire buisiness since the late80s,did road service for 15yrs on heavy trucks, changed alot of tube-type split-rims,Lol.

I keep plug kits in each vehicle and each tool box. Saved my bacon on numerous occasions.

Re: Tubes in tubeless tires?
For those that add tubes to their carts do you do it yourself? If so how do you get the tire bead stretched over the rim? Is their a cheapie tool for the DIY dudes?
