Default Help 1999 ezgo

i have read of problems on the board but I don't see mine...sorry

I have a 1999 Ez-Go electric golf cart, a few weekends ago cart was working fine. then stopped going forward, just backwards. After looking at the cart I found that the bottom wire on the cart was burnt. (at the end) so went pick up another cable, when changing it I noticed that the bottom poll was loose. looking closer the bolt was not making contact. (it was burnt)..so I change it and put a brand new forward/reverse switch. but you guessed it still no Forward just reverse. any clue what to try next.

Thanks....Heath

Not really, but when I lost forward I parked it to try to fix. and so far no luck, I did have to drive in reverse to park it and did not feel any different...

Can you test micro switches just to be sure they work?
Is there no solenoid click in forward? Just clicks in reverse?

the micro switches on the f/R switch are all new. (the solenoid clicks in both foraward and reverse. changed it about 3 months ago...but that was not the problem then. it was the micro witch in the floor board.) checked all wires going to the control, checked all wires going to the back of cart all look good. not sure what to try next.

You might have a controller failure.

I was scared of that...because of that burnt wire from the bottom post of the f/r switch to the left connection on the controller....is there any way to test the controller..

Check the power output from the controller with your multi meter(DVM). Connect the negative probe to the controller's M- terminal and positive to the B+ terminal. Press the accelerator and watch to see if the voltage increases. It should increase from a reading of 0 to the full voltage of the battery. If there is no voltage present in reverse the controller is bad.
