Default Did I burn it up?

I am getting 4 wheel brakes so I put the cart on jacks and pulled the front spindles and rear brakes in preparation. Well while I have it in the air, why not run the motor for a while to run the batteries down for another charge cycle? With a stick on the peddle away it goes. So it is a little noisy in the gears, maybe need to check / change the oil. Well with it running at 18 Amps it will take a while so i mow the lawn. When I get done, it is not running any more. Motor is to hot to touch and there is a puddle of oil under the pan (looks like the the plug was not tight). So I let it cool down and test the stator coils and it appears that they are open. Is there a thermal limit that will reset or did I smoke it?

Can you cancel the order for the brakes?

My first question to you would be whether or not you can rotate the rear wheels?

As far as the Motor's concerned, I'm not sure, and I don't think there are many here that can say if 18 amps under NO LOAD is enough to over-rev the motor and damage it.....

Connect 36 volts across it and see if it 'GOES'........be carefull as you've already caused enough, er, let's say sheet to happ'n.

My second question to you, because I want to be polite and not hurt your feelings would be WHY???????????????

Yes, the axles rotate. Zero amp draw with the peddle down, open winding I guess.

Why? Slow discharge. I need a bunch of charge cycles to get this battery pack up to 100%.

No need to cancel the brakes, Robby @ Plum Quick started my build of my new Assassin motor today.
