Default Need help putting steering back together

My son broke the steering housing on my 1997 ezgo, got everything torn apart fine, can't get the rack and the idler assembled now onto the housing. Still have the rack connected to the top of the idler, and the tie rods connected to the bottom of the idler. What am I missing to get this back together?

Here's a Manual for your Cart,

You can dig through it and find something on the Steering, and even print out the pages you need or save it to your computer.

Hope this Helps, Good Luck

PS- Look on the Bottom Right and go to page P-1 in the Manual.

The shaft with the teeth back on it wont go into the housing? Is that what you are asking? Be more descriptive. If thats the case there is a plate that has to be removed and the hardware inside pulled out then push it in and fasten it all back down.

I have taken everything out of the steering housing, my issues is that it seems like the rack has to go into the housing in sequence with the housing connecting to the idler. It seems that I either need to disconnect the rods from the bottom of the idler, or the rack completely off the top of the idler to get it to work? Also, when I get that done, which way to I orient the teeth of the rack to make it work with the steering column? Thanks for all of the help, this is obviously the first time doing this for me!
