Re: testing the charger
Just kidding.
Probably anyone who messes with electricity has been bitten more times than they'd care to admit, often from doin' somethin' dumb. I know I have. The biggest thing to worry about on these chargers is the capacitor, which could hold a charge. Though it isn't the "right" way to discharge a cap, I just short them out with a screwdriver. |

Re: testing the charger
Yeah, I've had a couple coils bite me because I wasn't looking. They hurt!

Re: testing the charger
Sorry to but in, I have a powerwise charger and doesn't seem to maintaining the charge on my batteries. Does this charger have this capability? I have a early 2001 EZ-GO TXT. If I unplug the charger and plug it back and hour or so before I use it I notice that the voltage was higher and the cart ran better

For long term storage, the "Powerwise" and "Powerwise+" chargers will keep a battery pack above 70% Soc to prevent (Minimize) sulfating the plates. However, they do not have a trickle charge mode, which is what I suspect you are looking for. |
