Default 1999 Club Car DS new batteries (powering accessories)??

Okay i just got around to ditching my 4-12 volt standard car batterys on my club car. I went with the sams club duracell batterys. 6 - 8 Volt (Deka Promaster GCV. So far they are okay i haven't really got them to run down yet. I have made a few laps and still trying to break them in.

I am trying to protect my investment and still power my lights and radio. Will a 10amp voltage reducer do the job or is that going to be blowing the reducer? I use this for hunting mainly and trail riding to check cams and etc..

I also wanting to install a cigarette lighter plug to charge cell phones if needed be but would i be blowing the reducer then? Can i place a fuse block inline to protect my voltage reducer? Or should i just fab up a bracket and install a marine battery and be done? I hate to lose my bagwell area though since i place guns back there.

After doing some research it looks like a radio alone can draw 8-12 amps. And lights can draw appx 9 amps. So what size converter do you use to handle the amp load? A minimum of 25-30amps? I see alot of cart sites selling the 10 amp. I mean what can you run with that? I dont' mind replacing fuses but i don't want to be buying a reducer once a month or something.

Just pick up one of the 25 to 30 amp reducers. I have one that does 25 amps run across my 48v pack. I only pull lights on it but also do have a 12v socket installed for a spot light, air pump, or even my phone like you mention. Probably any of the site sponsors have them, but here is one for example: https://www.everythingcarts.com/p-39...12vdc-30a.aspx

I'm actually using this one and it works fine, but mine is silver: https://www.everythingcarts.com/p-11...2v-25-amp.aspx

Thanks for the links so i searched all over the site and couldn't find it. So now i am trying to find the cheapest one available. This seems like a good deal anyone running this one?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-DC-Conver...item27c69e8b65

This seems like a good one with the thermal and amperage overload feature.

https://www.everythingcarts.com/p-11...2v-25-amp.aspx

But can you just run this with a inline fuse to prevent it from burning up the unit?

I am just curious since it will be powering the radio, lights and another accessory at the same time it could tip over 25amps easy. thoughts?

Well i went ahead and bought this one hopefully it comes before the end of the week.

https://www.everythingcarts.com/p-11...2v-25-amp.aspx

I am going to put my lights on a relay and add a inline fuse also if this doesn't come with it. So i can knock down the amps my lights draw and also be able to install a cigarette lighter for charging phones/spot light. I will try and snap a picture of my install after its all done.
