1986 Club Car Engine Post Snapped
This is my first post on the forum so any help would be a lifesaver!
I have an 86' club car electric and its been running fine until the other day. A post coming out of my motor that has the wire which runs to my F/R switch has snapped off. I got under the cart and looked at it and it seems I need to soder a new one one, or take it to get done. Is this a specific part or what? The electric engine shop by my house said if I want them to fix it I would have to pull the motor off completely and bring it to them, how would I go about pulling it apart?? Please help! Christian |

Solder will not hold it - you need to replace the stud.

Re: 1986 Club Car Engine Post Snapped
Some where I saw an ad for a stud that screwed onto the remaining end and gave you a new place to connect to. I don't remember where I saw it but it was some golf cart parts catalog. Think maybe it might have been Precision and somewhere in Fla. Any of guys know about that sort of thing?

Re: 1986 Club Car Engine Post Snapped
Take it to an electric shop that re-winds motors. The windings in that motor are aluminum and they will attach a short piece of copper to the ends of the windings and reattach posts. Have them do all four posts. If the shop is worth their salt, you'll get a motor back that looks like new and should last another 30 years.
