Default Re: Negative reading on battery?

After a full charge when the charger turns off by it's self, you will get a true reading of the volt after the battery has been at rest for around 12 hours. and if your new batteries are at 6.06 they are in disparate need of a full charge, they are dying as they sit at 6 volts very bad for a battery to sit that low

You should check voltage 12 hours after charge. That's what I have learned on this site.

Ok here is an update. After letting the batteries stand off the charger for about 15 hours they all are reading 6.5v per battery except for the one I reversed which is now hooked up to a trickle charger that has a 6v 1amp setting and it seems to be back in the positive with a charge of 5.5 when it is connected to the charger but I have been checking it every few hours and it is progressing thru the charge slowly but surely. Can't wait to get them all hooked up right with a full charge and slap my new solenoids in(they should be here tomorrow) and see what this baby has got! Thanks again for everyone's helpful expertise!
