Default Steering column "gasket"

Does anyone make commercially, or, has anyone made a filler/gasket for the space around the steering column where it comes through these aftermarket dashes on ds? Trying to keep most of the water and dirt out of it and the one glaring hole is where the steering column goes. I know I COULD fill it with spray foam or break out the duct tape but hoped someone had a less rinky dink solution.

Mine looks like the closed-cell material that wet suits are made of, but since you only need a 3"X3" piece, my first thought was foam shoe inserts spray painted black. Hello Dr. Scholls.

What about trying some thick backer rod? That may work
