Default Adding a xtra 12volt battery

I was wondering why I cant just add a 7th 12 volt battery reprogram my alltrax for 48 volts?

You CAN do it, but the net results will be replacing all six of the 6V batteries and the 12V battery in the near future.

The batteries are charged and discharged in series, so you want all 24 of the 2V cells in the 48V pack as closely matched in storage capacity as possible and practical. Otherwise the lower capacity cells will be overcharged and discharged while the higher capacity cells will be undercharged, all of which ruins batteries.

No cart model stated, so assuming TXT. Why not just replace the existing 6V with 6-8V batteries, change charge receptacle to the TXT48 model and buy a TXT48 charger. Good to go. BUT, you will need to add a DC-DC converter and remove the #10 ga green from the #5 battery feeding your fuse panel. All this assuming TXT. The 6v and 8v batteries are same size.

That's my 2 cents worth.
