Micro switch with 3 wires
I have a micro switch that has 3 wires coming out of it. The old one had 3 slip on terminals. Should I hook the top wire up to the wire that was hooked to the top terminal and the middle wire to the wire that was connected to the next one down? And bottom wire to the wire that came off the bottom post. I'm guessing this is a forward switch.

Re: Micro switch with 3 wires
Not sure if they were hooked up the right way before or not. I beleive the switch was the orignal one. I do know the cart run before as I seen the guy drive it all the time before it stopped. He bought a pretty new gas one and it set for 2 years. The cart started just shaking and jerking when pressed the gas forward and reverse. The batteries were really old. I talked to a couple of guys that I thought that knew a little about carts and they told me to change the for/rev switch and put in ne batteries which I have done. Just need to hook up the 3 wires. I have this feeling there are other issues as without them hooked up it don't move. I have the click at the silonid switch and the reverse horn going off but now movement. Do have 50 volts going out the batteries pack and checked all of the batteries seperatly as they are new.

Re: Micro switch with 3 wires
It is a 95 club car ds 48 volt system.
Scottyb - This on has 2 2wire and 1 3wire ms on it and the 3 wire is at the rear of cart. The old switch had the terminals made on the switch but the new one has 3 wires running out of it. Red - Blue - Black. The 3 orignal wires from the cart that was hooked to the old switch was green - black - white starting at the top and going down. |

Re: Micro switch with 3 wires
Is see, do you know the order they went in?
Originally that switch may have been wired top to bottom: black blue red Jack one wheel off the ground and try it? |

Re: Micro switch with 3 wires
On the orignal switch it had the studs sticking out and the wires from the cart out of the harness that plugged into that switch was green - black - white wires from the top of it down.
This new switch don't have the terimials on them instead it has 3 wires coming out of it which are black - blue - red top to bottom. If wrong will it hurt anything? If not I cn jack it up and play musical plug in until I might get something. Thanks |

Re: Micro switch with 3 wires
scotty i have seen that switch but if he has just a basic 3 prong micro switch on cart now i would suggest just geeting another 3 prong microswitch instead of the one with the wires unless those wires come off then just use switch and forget about the wires................................
