Re: 22-24 mph on street please
Finished the install of the DCX400 controller and 200a solenoid. Followed instructions very cafefully. I'm pretty good at this stuff so I am sure I did it correctly. Anyway, cart just does a continuous beep when in forward or reverse. Just barely a hint of forward or reverse movement when pedal is pressed. Kinda feels like it wants to go in reverse either way. Beep sounds when the key is on or off. Doesn't sound if in maint/tow. Pulling 38.3v off of the charged battery pack. But its only 36.4v out the other side of the solenoid with nothing on. Don't know if that matters. Could the old/stock F/R switch not be man enough to handle the new controller? Don't tell me I had to reset from the speed chip or something like that before I started this! Any info would be great.

Re: 22-24 mph on street please
After a couple of beers I switched the wires on the small terminals of the solenoid and the cart now goes. But just backwards with the F/R switch in either position and still the contiuous beeping.

Re: 22-24 mph on street please
Researched some posts and verified the following:
1. Don't drink (too much) and fix cart. 2. Solenoid does engage. 3. Controller status LED checks out as normal. 4. I switched F1 and F2 wires on controller and cart will now go forward only in either F or R. 5. Still a continuous beep when F/R switch is flipped either way. 6. Anxiety level about this is very high. I am hoping that the cart just thinks its in "reverse" and all I need to do is change the F/R switch. Here is a picture of my switch. Certainly doesn't look like one that has "Micro switches" that posts say you can adjust. Suggestions? |

Re: 22-24 mph on street please
It sounds like the controller and solenoid are working okay, you just switched up some of the directional signal wires? Really don't know which ones? Did you change the F&R switch wires pictured?
Here is the wire diagram for your cart, study it wire by wire until you find the mistake. Scottyb |

Re: 22-24 mph on street please
Talked with Alltrax tech support (nice guys). Maybe a faulty PDS wire harness adapter. They are sending another one out. I've been reading ScottyB's schematic and some of the wires don't match on my cart. Specifically, the green and orange wires are reversed on the F/R switch. So I reversed them and.........no change. Pray for faulty harness.
Oh JohnnieB, you got anything? |

Re: 22-24 mph on street please
I Second And Third The Suggestion To Go 48V . I Just Did That Very Thing And Wow What A Ride. But I Did What Your Doing First. I Installed A Dcx500Pds And Super Solenoid First Turned Down To 400 Amps And Then A Year Later I Put 8V Batteries In And Changed The Precharge Resistor For 48V. I'm Now Pushing 40 Mph On 23 Inch Tires. Crazy Fast. Had Almost 30 Mph On Gps Before I Uped The Voltage.

Side Note. The Torque Is Also Incredible. Lifts The Front End And Goes Strait When I Hit The Gas With Wheel Turned. Not Off The Ground But **** Close. Probably Would If The Tires Got A Good Bite On Asphalt.

I'll keep that in mind. Right now I'm working on getting back on the road.
