Hey guys---look closely at his picture. The wheel on the double microswitch is not touching the cam. It looks like it has been bent around and the wheel frame is what is touching the cam. Look at the scrape marks on the cam. That microswitch can't possibly hitting the right detent to allow the F/R to work properly. That's what I see.

The nutty thing is that it does work, it just works backwards. (IE: 1/2 speed with lever in F position)

I want to see what detents the rollers are in when the silly thing is in the F and in the R positions according the the lever.

If the roller bracket were bent back straight so the roller was touching the cam or the microswitch were replaced, I'll bet his cart would function properly if he puts all the wires back the way they were originally. I wasn't paying attention when I replaced a cam once and bent the roller bracket on one of the microswitches and it would not function properly until I bent the bracket back straight.

It STILL sounds like the S1 and S2 wires are swapped. That reverses the motor response ....

The problem isn't which direction the motor turns.
The problem is that the double microswitch contacts are closed when the lever in in the F position. IE: Top of direction selector lever closer to driver side.

For some unknown reason, when the cam is rotated CW from neutral (as viewed from the front of the switch when mounted in cart), the contacts in all of the switches close.

Basically the position of the direction selector lever and which switch contacts are closed are out of sync.

Even if all the high current cables were disconnected, when the lever is in F, it is in 1/2 speed mode and when the lever is in R it is in full speed mode.

Once the lever and the switches are in sync, getting the motor to spin in the correct direction is just a matter of swapping the S1/A2 cables or the A1/A2 cables.

That would fix the symptom, but not the root cause of the problem.
I want to see pictures of his switch cam in the F and the R positions.

If it was me, I just drive the cart full speed forward and half speed reverse and not worry about what the selector lever was saying.
Either that or disconnect the two wires from the pot-box and get rid of the 1/2 speed.

Not to beat a dead horse but that double microswitch is ALWAYS activated the way it is in the picture. Do you guys see that?

I've never seen one in person, but can't the plastic cam be rotated in 90° increments, so four possibilities?

According to the picture, the cam is oriented properly. It's the roller and arm on the double microswitch that is out of whack.
