Sounds like you either have a mechanical problem (IE: Stripped splines at Axle/Hub interface or stripped splines at Motor/Differential interface) OR an electrical problem (IE: Battery pack failing under load)

Checking for a battery pack failing under load is probably the easiest one to check.
Connect a voltmeter between the main positive and main negative terminals on the battery pack and read the voltage when the cart is misbehaving.

I tried questioning whether it was his brake hub early on, if you'll look at my post #4.

I guess the post could be aimed at either of us. My post only showed that a solenoid can be rebuilt. I killed two on a fully stock buggy. I believe in gettin' my money's worth, and just pushed them past their limits. A ScottyB HD solenoid fixed the problem until I upgraded to the setup in my sig.

For both of my fried solenoids, they became intermittent, with it either running normally, or not at all. No noise. However, a high resistance connection would have been possible, which may explain the noise, besides a mechanical problem.

Jumping the solenoid would rule that out as a culprit. JohnnyB's suggestions should also be done.

It's been a long week at work. Hopefully I will get some time this weekend to try some of the things mentioned. I do appreciate all of the advice given by everyone and I guess I will try to refrain from having a little bit of fun in my thread.
