![]() My fairplay ZX 4.0 -6P was reversing out of shed and the controller started to smoke up. What would cause the controller to burn up? aren't these protected by solenoid/resistor? It had the stock dcx300R7.

![]() The resistor and diode do not protect against catastrophic errors. Typically in Sepex drive carts 3 things cause the controller to burn up. A direct short on the input or the output side. Overload or excess amperage draw. Motor failure.
Had a guy tell me his DCX control failed so he put the old stock control back in, 100 yds later the motor failed on the reduced stock control... |

![]() thank you for the response I'll check the motor out, its only a year old motor so Im hoping it's not dead. What would cause and overload or excess amperage? batteries are also 1 year old 8 x 6 volt setup.
