Default differential oil for old Melex

What is the correct oil to use in an old Melex 212? Read many of the post and some same 30W most are 80W or 90W. Scotty, you had an old Melex, what do you say?

I used 80-90w in mine...... It looked like that is what came out of it....Besides we are talking about some older technology there. I think that was about all they had in gear oil at that time....I'm not saying there may not be something better....

that is what I will try to find and fill to proper level. Thanks a lot Scott. Merry Christmas. You and some of the other guys have been extremely helpful to a lot of us newbies. I would have been lost and made quite a few mistakes if it were not for BGW. Of course I probably would not have been spending as much money either! So many ideas on what to upgrade on these carts. But it is fun working on them.

Yep, it's all Scottys fault that we've spent all our money on our carts. Now that we're all homeless we're going to move in with him..
