Any ways to make an Onward ride better?
Just wondering if there are any ways to make a Club Car Onward standard 2 seat non lifted ride better? I have one and on the course it rides ROUGH!

Anyone?
I have looked at the parts manuals for both the Onward and Precedent, and leaf springs and shocks seem to be the same? I'm confused why the Onward seems to ride so much rougher. |

What size tires and wheels are you running? Having a good bit of rubber between the wheel and road can make a big difference in ride comfort.

What kind of air pressure? Lower air pressure will soften the ride

I think I'm running 15?
I guess my question is, why does an Onward seem to ride much stiffer than a Precedent, when they are supposed to have the same suspension? |

Re: Any ways to make an Onward ride better?
A 205 55 10 tire is still only about 18” tall, so it’s roughly the same outer diameter as a regular 18x8.50x8” golf cart tire. Except you have an inch less sidewall cushion to absorb bumps. The shorter sidewall is stiffer and that translates to a rougher ride.
“Quite a bit of rubber” may not be enough rubber to make the ride as smooth as a precedent riding on 8” wheels. Another consideration: how long have you had your onward? A few months? Are you comparing the ride quality to a brand NEW precedent or one that’s been around the block a few years on the golf course? A precedent that’s a few years old is pretty well “broken in” and the springs and shocks will be softer on that just due to age. |

Get radial tires. Smoother, quieter I used them on an ezgo and now have them on my 2019 onward

Re: Any ways to make an Onward ride better?
We have a new Onward and when delivered had tire pressures at 37 lbs. MAX rating on tire is 35lbs. Very rough ride, seemed to bounce. Lowered pressure to 21. Still rough but much better. Will lower to 18 lbs and see if it helps more.
HOWEVER....it seems that the cart surges or jerks when going at higher speed, not so much as a rough ride. Any ideas or observation about that? Thanks |
