There are some simular stuff, especically on the "first gen" Star, it pretty much was a clone. Second gen was a little less "cut & paste" ezgo copy (they "may" have been sued & runned off). They are not so easy as "just use the ezgo version". The brake parts are a copy, but a very poor copy, best to get a whole new brake assy (it bolts right up). The axle, bearings, gears are Not the same. Steering stuff is not same. It was a frame & general design style copy. They copied the "design idea", but the little bits are not the same. Fix it up nice, then sell it. Get the "real deal" from a yamaha, ezgo, or club car, a lot less parts confusion. We were a Star dealer for a while, im glad we are not anymore. Parts service & warranty was poor from the factory (plus poor quality electrical work and low build quality in general).

I got it for free can't complain, But I have a 2000 club car DS 12" lift and fixed up fairly nice, I am about to start a parts list of missing items, Im stumped on the roof supports, are those also Ez-go? What about the charger ports are they the same as a club car DS 48volt? round three prong?

Not the same. Look at chargers and you will see club car, and star 48 and 72 volt, not the same.

The "pin size" is totally different. Unless yours was modified. They do "look the same" to some. Getting into total "unknown territory" if its not original Star plug. Copy Star system>, modified to CC plug>, but without the OBC,. I hate to have "triple modified" systems to try & figure out. The Star plug is not close to "native compatible" to the ClubCar plug due to pin size. I usually convert them to a different (more reliable) plug.style. I usually go with 48v "crow foot" like ParCar because it is pretty easy to mod into the original cart socket. I truly believe the "crow foot" was phased out because it was too reliable & never needed much. (parcar used 48v crow foot for years)

Well my cart at the momemt does not have a charger port, the cart did have a on board charger at one point, is it fairly easy to convert to the crow foot?
