Default Tire size suggeations

I have a series drive 1996 txt. I will end up with an altrax 500amp controller in the cart.

I am trying to decide between 22"x10.50"x10 and 23"x10.50x12.

I'm going with black steel. The 10"ones are just plain solid steel but the 12" rims are wagon wheel design which look better to me. Plus cart will be a tad taller aND a better top speed. I would think the cart should have the torque to pull either fine.

Anyone have thoughts? Who is running 23s on their series cart?

I have a set of old junker tires on it now from a buddy that say their 22.5" and it runs fine. And I don't have an alltrax controller yet.

If your 22.5 with the stock control you can run 23's with the 500 alltrax no problem. 23" tires do represent a 25% reduction in power vs the stock 18" tires. On flat ground you can get away with that. On steep ground you would feel the reduction. I hope this helps

I am running 23x10x12 on the black steel rims, no issues at all. I am not going for speed as I use me cart for hunting in the Texas hill country, plenty of torque, although I am running a D&D high torque motor.

I can tell on longer steeper hills I would feel the torque loss. With the alltrax 500 would it show up as problem with the new controller?
