Default Turn Signal Reminder

Has anyone here ever installed one of these? Do they work well, and how hard is to wire in?

I got one of these.

For a few dollars more you won't have to go through much trouble. Just unplug the old and plug in the new. To me it was a safety issue. I couldn't hear the signal was on. I once had a car pull out in front of me because he thought I was turning.

You can simply use your original buzzer, the one for going backward using 3 diodes (from radio shack or any electronic component shop). Take one supporting a couple of Amps. Do not know the price in US, perhaps 0.20 to 0.30$ each...

The role of a diode is to let pass the current in one direction and not the other. On it, there is a bar (as on its symbol) showing which side the current is blocked.

In fact one should be optional (the horizontal one), but just in case... *smile

On my Yamaha (from Japan so not the same than is US), the buzzer was not connected through the contact key, meaning anybody touching the backward lever when I was parked, the buzzer was on continously... I had to change it

I assume the original buzzer line is protected by a fuse, as your turn lines...

dannyre, that buzzer is wired on the output of the existing flasher "L" terminal.

The "audible" flasher replacement that jjance posted will work as well, but there are cheaper options:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audible-LED-...-/310805680414

sformal, on his Club Car the +48v positive of the buzzer is always ON from the Tow/Run switch, the controller switches the negative side to activate the buzzer, so your circuit would not work in his case.

You can use a SPDT 12v relay to share the buzzer with the turn signal, but for another $5, a replacement flasher is a lot simpler to install.

Perhaps Golf Cart Guy can post a diagram for his simple install.

I'd really like to wire in this one, if possible..

http://www.ebay.com/itm/371789148973...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

From what I see, this simply connects to the existing turn signal flasher with two wires, am I right?

Those devices go inline with the load during the off-cycle, so it could be an issue if you are using LED bulbs.

Since there are many types of flashers, your best bet is to identify the kind of flasher you have: Number of terminals and markings (letters, numbers or symbols).

Contact the seller with the flasher details and if You are using filament or LED bulbs.

Please post an update with whatever you decide as far as how loud or bright the reminder indicator works.
