Ezgo pds cart faster in reverse?
Anyone know why a 06 pds cart would be much faster in reverse? Pretty sure I must just have a wire swapped :/

Re: Ezgo pds cart fAster in reverse?
For good measure try the self diagnostic mode on your car. All the instructions and code references should be on the weather cover that protects the controller and solenoid. See if you get a problem code. If not we will go from there. Sometimes though with the txt the carts are just like that, also it's sometimes because the f/r contacts don't line up precisely

Re: Ezgo pds cart fAster in reverse?
In an EZGO cart with a PDS (SepEx) drive, the controller switches the direction of the current through the motor's field windings for reverse and the F/R switch is simply a SPDT/Center-Off low current rocker switch. The controller also goes into half speed mode when controller is in reverse.
Having the F1 & F2 wires swapped will cause the cart to go about twice as fast in Reverse than it does in Forward, but the direction selected on the F/R switch wouldn't match the direction the cart travels. Otherwise there are more than just one set of wires/cables that are swapped. With the top part of the rocker switch depressed (F selected), which way does the cart travel? |

Some motors will spin a bit faster in one direction than the other, but if half speed reverse is connected, it isn't noticed. The orange wire that goes the the connector on the controller is what tells the controller to go into half speed mode. It should have battery pack voltage on it when in Reverse and Zero volts on it in forward. |

Re: Ezgo pds cart fAster in reverse?
So it goes about 6mph in forward. And 13mph in reverse per my gps. My lawnmower would definitely take the lead currently.

About twice as fast in reverse, so I suspect the controller is being put into half speed mode in Forward.
Can you post some picture of your controller and reversing contactor, also the F/R switch wiring if possible. |

Or just swap the S1 and S2 wires... or remove the orange wire (TXT) for full speed in both directions.
