Default Small lurch forward, and just died.

Hey gang, looking for some help. I have a 2010 Precedent. Drive train is stock. Had 4 people, me and 3 others get on the cart. I was parked on a slight hill, and started to go forward. The cart moved slightly, then nothing. It started to roll back, and had no power. When I step on the gas pedal, I can hear a solenoid or something click, but no power in forward or reverse. I tried disconnecting the batteries hoping something would reset. No luck.
Did I fry the motor? Where should I start to diagnose?
Thanks!

I should add that I had just charged the batteries, and it had been running fine for the 30 minutes prior. In that 30 minutes, we had just been cruising slowly through our RV Park.

Found a burned wire coming out of the controller. The guy who fixed it for me was not sure why it happened, and could not guarantee that it would be a long-term fix. He stated that a CC controller would run $650! $650 for a stock controller? I guess it's time to start looking at other options. I'd love recommendations on a better controller!

If you are in need of a new controller, go with Alltrax.
Great controllers that are "tuneable" with a laptop and the Alltrax Toolkit
Leaving it stock? Go with the 300 amp
Little more speed with stock motor? Go with 400 amp and 4 gauge cables.
Want a hot rod? Go with 500 amp, 2 gauge cables and a high speed motor.

Dave at Revolution or scotty at cartsunlimited can help you out.

If it burnt a controller wire, its normally because it was loose.

Speed will be the same with any of the XCT controllers. (22-23 mph with the stock motor on stock tires) Speed is a result of rpm limit. How fast you get up to speed is more easily influenced by amperage.
$650 for stock seems silly as a 400amp Alltrax is just $462

Thanks Scotty. Exactly the answer I needed. If/when I have an issue, is 400 amp time!
Also, assuming my new 23" tires, my top speed should be a bit beyond the 22-23 stock.

Hey -- if I go AllTrax, do I lose regen? I guess I am fine either way, but I kind of like it for crawling down the hill to our boat dock.

Love this forum!!

The XTC controller have regen that you can control from the toolkit.
You can also get a dial for your dash that controls regen as well.

650 is about right for dealer list on an OEM controller. I vote for the Alltrax
