Default Looking to buy this cart..help identify and what to look b4 buying

Hello. I'm new here. We do a lot of camping and are looking to buy a cart. I found this one near me. It's an ezgo but seller isn't sure of the year or model. He did tell me batteries are about 1 year old. I'm curious if 1400$ is a good price. I believe I may have negotiated him down to that. Also what should I look and listen for when buying a used cart? This will be my first cart I own. Also is this a decent cart for a family to use around camp? I would like a back seat list for it eventually. Thanks

ezgo txt
serial number will tell you the year
look for rust in the battery frame
look to see if batteries are 3 or 4 holes (3=36v 4-48v)
$1400 is a good price in my area
rear seats and hd springs are about $350

Thanks a lot. For the reply. That's true I'm not sure if it's 36 or 48v either. Is one preferred over the other? Again I'm a total newbie

Ask him if he performed routine maintenance (no one does), such as greasing the zerks, changing differential oil (depending on cart's age), look at battery rack for corrosion (there will always be some), test drive and see if the steering is sloppy, look at the water level in the batteries, ask if he charged them after EVERY use, etc. and use that for negotiating. If you have a DMM, check the voltage of each battery and the pack. Drive fast then see if you can lock up the brakes.

I'd pay $1400 for that if everything is working good and it has been maintained. That's a fair price. Yeah thats the perfect little camping buggy!

Hard to tell from the pics but I am thinking that it is a pre 2001 cart. Couple of questions. How many bolts hold the steering column to the floor? 3, pre-2001, 4 2001+ Where is the fnr switch? If behind your right leg look at the back of the lever and tell us what you see. As for the batteries look at the negative posts for a letter and numbers. Letter is the month and number is the year.

Thank u all so much for the information. I'm going in the next day or 2 to look at it in person. I'm def going to use the bargaining chips given to me. Thanks guys. I did have another question on the charger... what should I be looking for there? Are there good and bad ones? Ways to verify it works? Thanks so much. This site is a wealth of information!

On a stock cart 48v will be faster and have more torque
