Guys, attached (Monitor) is a log file from what I just ran. The first log is pedal to the floor going up hill, and second log is pedal to the floor going downhill. Cart still feels nothing like it did before, with old motor and DCX400. Charger said it is fully charged.

Per a previous suggestion I did turn on enable speed limit and set RPMs high. Didn't feel like anything changed. Does the speed senor have to be connected from motor to controller for that work on a PDS, or a regen motor? Cause I don't have a connector motor plug to controller.

Thoughts? I'm just aggravated now, but trying not to be.

You need the motor speed sensor connected if you have selected enable speed limit for a PDS unless this is a DCS.

Only thing I see is the motor voltage is half of what the pack is. Can you set the reverse speed to 100% and re-try

Scotty, it's a PDS. I will get a sensor plug. Maybe that will help fix the issue. The sensor attached to my old motor and DCX controller was not plugged in either. As I recall, I don't think there was anywhere to plug it in on the DCX controller.

Did you get a chance to look at the log file I attached?

Scotty, I had the reverse set to 100% when I ran that log file.

Is the motor voltage supposed to read the same as the pack voltage? If so, could it have something to do with not having the speed senor cable connected? Or could it be field map related?

I'm pretty sure all the wires/cables are connected and tight. I'll double check them though.

Those batteries are brand new (2 months old).

The motor's speed sensor has to be attached to the controller.

Hopefully, you still have the cable that went to the stock motor.

You'll have to cut and splice it into the wire coming out of the D&D motor.

I'm not sure why you are only getting about 1/2 of the battery voltage applied to the armature (called motor voltage on the data log). Motor volts and Battery volts ought to be roughly the same when duty cycle (called Throttle%) is at 100%. I verified that with a data log I saved prior to getting the motor speed sensor connect to my XCT. They are equal at 100% on the log I saved.

The armature only drew a max of 145A and the field only went up to 11.8A, so the low end torque would have been dismal.

The Field amps only dropped to to 3.3A at its lowest so the cart speed would have definitely left something to be desired.

Get the speed sensor connected, run another log and we will go from there.

At 100% throttle Battery volts and Motor volts ought to read about the same.

Try clearing the auto-throttle, when you get the sensor connected.

The batteries look okay. The first reading with the relay closed, shows 38.4V and mature Trojan batteries read about 38.2V. Newer would red slightly higher.

Guys,
I finally got a sensor connector for motor to controller. Does anybody know what the max RPM is for the D&D 170-502-0001 motor. I've looked online, and I've found anything from 3,250 to 5,100 for that motor?

Thanks!

Best bet is to contact D&D and ask them what the max recommended RPM is for your motor.

My guess is that it will be 6000RPM, but it depends on who you talk to.

For my motor, I was told 6000 by Vic and 6500 by Eric, but I have taken it to 7000 occasionally.
