I really don't want to mess with the sound bar. I fought it tooth and nail and already stripped the outer sheathing to fit just snug to the length to get it inside the roof support tubing.

I may curb this one for a while. I went down a rabbit hole online of cutting the plexiglass and then re-bending with a heat gun to get it like the original top and remounting the rubber bottom catches.

I am not currently at home to look at mine but couldn’t you pull the windshield apart where it folds, in the middle, and cut both the top and bottom portion equally? Then glue them back into the hinge piece allowing it to fold, fit into the rubber pieces when down and when up it sits at just the bottom of the speaker? This allows leaving the sound bar and it keeps the windshield fully functional.

I didn't even think about this. Genius idea---I don't think you can pull it apart, but I can cut from both sides and get a repair kit to replace the hinge. Thanks for the insight!

You can put a piano hinge in there but be careful with that lexan, it cracks very easily. Josh, you ever get near Aiken, I have a used RXV windshield I will give you.

Where do I snag a piano hinge from? Any feedback on this versus the plastic version?

Any hardware store should have a piano hinge in stock

I did this on my Terrain 1500 because the WS for that sucker was over $300.. Nope, don't think so. I used 2 3" SS hinges from Lowes. Worked fine but make sure to use a sharp bit and go slow. If it binds it can split the entire WS..
