The reason they require a minimum voltage to start is our fault. Some moron hooked a 12v battery charger to a 6v battery, went away, and it burned down their garage. The morons first reaction to their own stupidity? Get A Lawyer, and Sue the crap out of the charger manufacturer, and anyone else the lawyer could roll up into the lawsuit. The cart charger needs a low voltage limit for the same reason, if the 48v charger would readily turn on with 36v batteries, someone's garage would burn down.

And don't yet assume your batteries Are "all back to perfect", they did suffer some consequence for sitting dead like that. You will get reduced range, reduced overall lifespan, or both.

the above is good to know. Reduced range and lifespan? Too bad for the nephew who left the key on. He'll work that off on the chainsaw this autumn. I've a dozen dead live oaks in need of being whittled into fire wood. I'll tell him the battery life is reduced by 15%. Let's see, 15% of the $1,150 it took to get the new ones installed is $172.50. That's a lot of time on that chain saw!! Stupid has consequences. Nephews don't call me Uncle Buck for nothin!!

Thanks for the heads up cgtech!!!

UPDATE:
Checked charging status early this morning. 3 flashes of red light with a pause and repeated again and again.
Bad battery? Needs water?
Thoughts?

Assuming you have the powerwise QE 3 red flashes means the charger timed out (charge time exceeded 24 hours) before it could fully charge the batteries.

Yes I have the PowerWise QE.
I unplugged the charger from the AC wall plug for 20 minutes then plugged back in, still 3 red flashes w/ pause.

WOA!! Wait a minute. I just unplugged the charger from the EZGO and immediately plugged it back into the cart and now I get 2 green flashes meaning it's charging.

Stay tuned.
